Our Story
Clarkson Chromatography Products Incorporated is a family-owned, veteran-run business dedicated to manufacturing the highest purity liquid chromatography media. As the only manufacturer of high-purity activated silicic acid (Unisil) for liquid and High Performance Liquid Chromatography research, we’ve built our reputation on quality and innovation.
The Original Unisil
The Beginning
Our founder, John Bonislawski (President of CCP Inc.), secured Ben Franklin research grants through the S.B.D.C. organization to develop variations of high-performance chromatography materials. These research grants were co-written in collaboration with Bucknell University and Penn State University. The success of our research earned us an invitation to present at the prestigious Gordon Research Council Symposium at Salve Regina College in Rhode Island.
Expansion Through Innovation
At the symposium, we heard from numerous researchers frustrated by the time lost in their Hydroxyapatite research projects—many were forced to produce their own materials just to continue their work. Recognizing this critical need, John Bonislawski expanded our business in 1987 to include very high-purity Hydroxyapatite, Unisil, and allied materials for dental and medical research.
Our mission became clear: enable researchers to focus solely on their research by providing them with reliable, high-quality materials. This expansion has helped countless researchers complete their projects more efficiently, resulting in increased grants and funding opportunities. Our impact is documented in numerous NIH submissions that reference CCP Inc. products.
A Family Legacy
In 2002, John’s daughter Julie joined the company after earning her business degree. Having grown up watching her father dedicate long hours to this important work—often accompanying him as a young girl—Julie developed a deep appreciation for the company’s mission. She continues to be inspired by how her father, while teaching chemistry in a small northeastern town, created such an essential resource for the medical and dental research community.
